When a panel needs replacing
Screen mesh in Central Florida takes constant UV, rain and wind. Over time it fades, turns chalky and tears with light pressure. If you press a panel gently and it splits, or you see several small holes in one section, patching is no longer worth it. Replacing the panel gives you clean, tight mesh that will hold up.
How we replace panels
- We remove the old spline and mesh from each damaged panel.
- We clean the channel so the new spline seats properly.
- We roll in new mesh and spline, keeping the screen tight without bowing the frame.
- We trim the edges and check every panel we touched.
Mesh options
| Mesh | Good for |
|---|---|
| Standard 18x14 charcoal | Most pool cages and walls; good visibility |
| 20x20 (no-see-um) | Areas near water or wooded lots with small insects |
| Heavier pet-resistant mesh | Lower panels where dogs or cats push or scratch |
Roof panels usually take standard mesh; lower wall panels are where heavier options make the most sense.
Replacement vs. full rescreen
If only a few panels are damaged and the rest still look good, panel replacement is the efficient choice. If many panels are faded or brittle, see our full enclosure rescreen page.
Questions
How many panels can you replace in one visit?
Anything from a single panel to most of the cage. We quote by the panel or as a full job, whichever makes more sense for you.
Will new panels look different from old ones?
New mesh is usually darker than sun-faded mesh. If many panels are faded, a full rescreen gives a uniform look.
